More research is starting to point to the virus being airborne as well rather than just droplet spread. So much we still don't know about this virus.

Was just reading this morning that measles droplets are so small they can stay airborne commonly for two hours and up to 16 hours. A few other viruses and bacterium were mentioned as well. Conference rooms were cited as really effective places to have a spreader event.

Go Florida!! You demand the right not to have to wear masks. Have some.more rallies. That should help.

Interesting read;

Its bollox like this that lull people into a false sense of security. It was obvious to me and im no doctor that it was airborne in some way and there were people asymptomatic. But i live in a big overcrowded city so i could see it.

At some point our Covid strategy in the UK switched massively from “protect the health service from being overwhelmed” to “prevent anyone from getting Covid”, despite it being a very mild infection for 95% of those who contract it (and the majority won’t even contract it!). People for whom it is serious are those whose immune systems are weak – the elderly, overweight, those on immunosuppressants and people with underlying lung conditions, who in total represent under 2.5% of the population.

The choice is therefore between isolating the 2.5% or shutting down the entire population and economy to protect the 2.5%. For some reason we chose the latter. Our economy is tanking, we’re not treating anything but Covid (so deaths from cancer, heart disease etc. will far outweigh those from Covid), inflation will rage soon, our public services will be cut severely because of our debt levels and unemployment will rocket.

Or we could have chosen to isolate the vulnerable 2.5%.

Fac191 is right in that this makes no sense. First off, we don't even know who the vulnerable 2.5% are as individuals. As names to isolate.

Second, yes, the prevention effort has stepped up. But what is missing is that while the initial move was to have less patients than hospital beds, we've learned that this is not like the common annual flu, in that this leaves serious damage for years.

Third is that the people not dying but getting more than a mild infection is closer to 20%. Here in the US that alone is now over a half million people who will be continual burdens on the cost of health care for all of us, plus the 138,000 deaths. And both of those numbers are rising.

Even with all the protections HE gets, Trump has finally started to wear a mask.

At least Trump is not as hard headed as a lot of people that say "I ain't wearing no mask. This is a hoax." Yeah a global hoax. I now know 2 people that are graveyard dead from this hoax and I don'treally know a whole lot of people. In the last couple of weeks. The people wearing masks and distancing around here (Ms.) have skyrocketed.

I know 1 who died of c-19 , and 1 who died of being 102 , and 1 who died by self inflicted gunshot , all in the past few weeks ..... every person who reads this is going to die ..... every person who is alive is going to die .... you can't stop it , when it comes for you ..... that's just the way it is ... I see flowers and markers every week on the side of the road where fatal car wrecks have happened ..... cancer hasn't gone away , opioids still kill and hasn't gone away .... death is here to stay ..... they can not stop the pandemic , its all about slowing the spread . and they can't slow it either ...... you can blame this group or that , you can say this or that , what ever makes you feel good ..... this will go the way of the flu and other pandemics , we will get used to it ...... and life will go on .... its always been that way.

It is now quite clear who looks at facts and who just gets their "facts" from the media. Emotions and what you believe or "know to be true" will not protect you. Perhaps fantasy worlds are nice to live in though.

My wife and I earlier today dropped off a birthday card to my sister. We decided to just check out Newport Beach while we were down that way. Holy damn crap!! Good thing we had our windows rolled up and recirculating air on. Weekday and the beaches were packed!! Thousands of people, huge groups, zero social distancing and no masks. Even one of the bars was open passing drinks outside. We only counted a very small handful wearing masks.

Here is the mind blower: Not one cop anywhere to be found on the whole peninsula. ZERO law enforcement except a few life guards. I have never seen this in my whole life!! The LEO presence is always around during the summer months. It was mayhem!! No parking enforcement and people arguing in the lots over parking spaces. I could not get out of there quick enough.

Consequently Newport Beach has some of the hugest number of covid cases in my county. This is damn horrible.
