Good day,
I finally got off the proverbial pot and bought a new old stock 2019 from my local dealer. I've been looking at ADV bikes for the past 3 years or so about 5 minutes after getting my bike license. :) After riding my FZ8 for the last 3 years I got approval from the boss and picked up the new ST. I test rode almost every ADV bike I could and settled on the ST. Albeit, with a bit of hesitation given its size and weight compared to my outgoing bike. End of the day, built quality, reliability, cost of repairs, and manufacturing location played a large part in my decision to purchase the ST. I had a hard time reconciling the purchase price of a 850GS or Tiger 900, bikes both made in South Asia against a bike made in Japan. It was also pretty hard to argue with the price and incentives Yamaha was offering. Now if the rain would just stop and I could put some kms on the brand new tires and wear off that silica.
Cheers

Congrats! It is my favorite bike i have owned. It is comfy enough to ride all day and it can handle fireroads and most trails well enough. And it looks like a Tool of the Apocalypse. Which is nice.....

I finally got a chance to put a few kms on it yesterday. 250kms of comfort and cruise control. The weight and balance are going to take me a bit to get used to long before I take any fire roads. :)
