The picnic table was actually painted last year by a volunteer. Sadly, the 30 year Behr paint I used to use lasted a couple of years out there and anything else gets stripped off by the elements in a year or less. Wind, Sun, Rain and Sand are brutal. Sad to see the circle is not getting maintained better.

Yes, the wind made lunch interesting. Wendy's name needs to be added to the winners slate too. Still a awesome place to relax and reflect on life with motorcycles.

You guys are a bad influence on my bored mind. Google maps tells me it is 1028 miles round trip to there from my front door. I guess I kinda sorta have to do the Saddle Sore 1000 there and back now.

Put on some Mitas e07 tires, had to go try them out. Very impressed so far. So smooth on the pavement. Very confident on the gravel roads. They hook up pretty good in the dirt, and handle mud ok too. I’m not one who can just look at something and know if it’s good or not. I’m a more hands on type. No it’s time to wash, rinse and repeat. 7E3AF2C0-0FD9-429C-B9E6-D9519A3BCB9F.jpeg3F9068EC-CD73-41F9-9D6D-6C99FD4C13C8.jpegCD6E26ED-B8BB-4F99-9B21-26FC5B10D810.jpeg99FDCA97-0338-4310-AB35-CDFD97F42CDF.jpegE67B97AD-58F5-4DA5-BE59-947CA4CE096F.jpegAD2CB65C-5D04-457B-911B-B05B3419A4BE.jpeg581950AD-A8EF-45B4-B7E8-B5782E33EFF6.jpeg3DE21252-7E2E-4870-8DCE-F0A9FF43D4BD.jpeg64705EDF-DD1D-4426-BF64-6520163344F4.jpeg171F0561-087C-4D10-851C-0832EDEA6721.jpeg

Ha, after I saw the first picture of a pristine S10 I thought "this guy doesn't really ride his bike hard", but the other pictures proved how wrong I was.
That mud does not look like much fun

A quick ride to Herdla on the island Askøy north of Bergen. The spit of land jutting across the bay, going from left to right about as far as my top box,, was a German air base during the war. Our city (second largest in Norway) didn't build an airport until 1959 so the Germans had to construct their own ... Now the area is a wildlife sanctuary but the runways are still there, hidden beneath the soil. Some buildings are still in use, others in ruins.

While I could probably pick a line and get through what I see here, I am always leary of heading down a narrow trail that can get worse and have trouble turning around. Especially solo... I find the E07s pretty predictable in this terrain, my problems typically arise if I try to stop, or loose rocky climbs.

Went for a nice ride up by Larry H Miller’s cabin (mansion) owner of the Utah Jazz. Excellent time of year. Seen a truck that went off th road down a steep embankment. Must have been a lot more snow. It’s sitting on top of some boulders now.

Creeks are really flowing with some good water crossings.
