What flabbergasts me is the fact that many humans across the world are not taking this seriously enough. Proven scientific facts mean nothing to a lot of the population.

Agree, it all boils down to a lack of education.
Human nature plays a part as well. "It will never happen to me"
Ya'll know what I mean.

This is a LOOOONG read but the most sensible one I've read yet.
'If China’s numbers can’t be trusted, and America’s numbers can’t be trusted, it is unlikely that we can trust the numbers coming out of any other country. It is difficult enough to develop accurate statistical data in the first place, but becomes impossible when there is a deliberate effort to skew the data to further political and social policy. '

Well , i believe in MY Govts stats....

One is connected to the other , virus and politicians . Every day is another day of “Simon says “ and I would commend checkswrecks for recognizing he is human too . Everyone is affected and upset one way or another by these events. And expressing themselves here may be an only outlet to all the emotions inside. Be nice one to another , politics should be measured in small doses , not as bitter that way. And we are all friends here. We all are not going to agree on everything anyway. Can’t even get my wife to agree on everything either.

Well, I don't trust any government..period.
I lived in Rhodesia back in the seventies (my little Vietnam) and the government of the day assured all would be well...impossible as it was.

Riding is the most social distancing activity I can think of. When I go riding I take a padkos and a thermos of coffee and I'm good to go for an afternoon of enjoyment in cold temperatures.
(er...padkos=road food, or sandwich or una bocadilla). Lekker ek smaak!!

Ah ha ha ha...my ribs are sore.
Wives rarely agree,
Tell this to your wife and her girlfriends.
"Why don't little girls pass gas (fart) ?
Answer...because they don't get their assholes until they get married.
Just a sayin.

My fun filled Covid 19 moment of the day: First I'm 6'7" and 250 lbs. I go to Sam's Club and all is well I am checking out and all of a sudden some A hole starts coughing and bringing up a lung right behind me....well I turn around and say 'you ass I am wearing this mask for your protection not mine but you don't seem to give a shit about me or anyone else you thoughtless prick'. Thankfully some front end person said to him to please follow her and she would help him. The next time I see her I'm tipping her $20 ...they really are front line too. Good thing she was there I failed to mention that I'm 69 and my 5'8" 130 lb. wife could probably kick my ass anymore.

Peace brother...I'm trying to bring myself back down again.

I have been reading this thread and nearly bit my lip off.
I did not post as per moderators guidelines against political posting then proceed to read the same even if subtle by said moderators and others.
I'm out as well.

While I certainly admit that my comment about healthcare in the US changing as a result of this pandemic can be considered political, I think we can all agree that there will be changes in our daily lives as a result of this virus. Which leads me to a serious question, as this directly affects my livelihood: When will you feel comfortable in large public gatherings, i.e. concerts, sporting events, conferences and conventions, etc.?

I will not feel comfortable in large groups until there is a vaccine, and I have taken it. So, one is looking at early next year(ish). I will have no problems with small groups in the near future.

A company (intentionally leaving the name out), is so confident of a vaccine that they are working on, that they already have a number of production lines starting up, and hope to have over 500 million doses ready if it is approved early next year.

I hope that there will soon be a vaccine for COVID-19, although we haven’t managed to develop a vaccine for SARS in 18 years.

What a great question. Will we ever return to a pre-covid 19 world? I think we may have changed forever and some people will never feel comfortable living the "old" ways. On a slightly different tangent, I'm surprised the terrorists haven't taken the opportunity to hit us while we are vulnerable.

Not much for terrorists to terror cause we're at home - minimal affect.

If we do manage to squash this virus over here im betting shed loads of peeps will want their bike rallies back and will well attend.

(sorry no Tenere in pic, the Versys there ive just sold to make way for a S10)

I live in a small county in KY with a population of 40K. I can tell you from being here in the middle of a covid hotspot how dangerous this stuff is. We had a church that went against the recommendations on mass gatherings and went ahead with a revival they had planned. One person with covid came from out of state to attend the revival. Over twenty church members got the virus and six are dead. These were the first covid patients the local hospital had seen and before they realized it was covid they were dealing with, several nurses got it. An elderly patient got the virus from the hospital and took it back to a local nursing home where over thirty residents and five employees got it. So far twelve of the residents have died including a husband and his wife. As of now we have 169 with the virus and 19 dead. I know three of the ones that have it and three that have died. The stories of what the families are going through is very heart breaking. Their mothers, fathers and grandparents are dying and they can't be with them.

I have tried to keep my distance from people for the last six weeks, but because of being over 65 I had a covid test done yesterday, just in case. While the test isn't anything you can't endure, you're damn glad when it's over. Results: negative!!

Here's a newspaper story on how one of of my friends died. https://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/2020/04/09/coronavirus-kentucky-woman-not-allowed-to-return-nursing-home-dies/2970848001/
