No biggie. Pulled the DB killer off my Arrow exhaust. Impressed Arrow made it such an easy affair. Easily reinstalled on longer interstate trips. Sounds great.

Tried out the Novsight led bulbs I ordered, they're really damn bright and pure white like the D4's much cleaner light than the incandescents in there. Took em back out, still need to get Deftoner's caps and don't want to damage them in the meantime being exposed. Once I get them installed for good every single light on the bike will be LED.

Got a 2nd Denali switch installed in the main dash. Routed that harness to take over controlling the existing Denali D4 2.0's. Since I almost never turn the D4's off except for maybe in traffic jams I wanted the switch out of the way so that... The bar mounted switch that used to control the D4's will now control a pair of Baja S2's wide cornering angled to the side for night trail riding like Tabasco did to his. I'll be wiring those after the holidays. This way when I'm bombing dirt trail/road at night if I come across campers or another vehicle I can flip the side lights off with ease. I like Denali's sealed minimally illuminated switches over just about any other, especially the big obnoxiously bright round red ones that come with most lighting kits.

Also installed a switch in the main dash for an ABS disconnect also a dirt focused mod. Laid out the wire, inline fuse, connectors, etc. The soldering and wiring and finish work comes tomorrow, it's late.

The switch above the voltage meter is an accessory master shut off going straight to my PDM60. If I'm ever riding and have weird shit start going on with my electronics or having battery issues I can flip that switch and instantly kill power to the PDM60 which will kill all accessories, gps, phone, aux lights, tank bag power, etc.View attachment 61845View attachment 61846

Congratulations ! The main reason I traded was to get cruise control but there are lots of other very nice improvements.
i probably ain’t buying anymore new motorcycles (ain’t the first time I said that) but if I was it would most likely be a 2020 AFrica Twin DCT.

I love it it's as accurate as any car cruise control and worth the money. Follow the directions to the letter and take your time, it's alot of wiring, plan on a solid evening of no distractions.

well rode it home , felt very different than the 2012 , felt taller . been a long time since I rode a brand new bike ,so the 2019 felt solid and taller ,did I say taller .... must be the ES had it on 1 helmet + bags ,but no bags and the damping was a bit harsh , tomorrow being Saturday I will have a chance to get to know the Duckling , I still think it is an ugly paint scheme . cruise control on for a few minutes ,I am going to like it just as soon as I can figure out what I am supposed to do with my right hand ... I can ride pretty comfortable with my left off the bars but right hand never . heated grips seem like how did I ever ride without them, already. the windshield is putting air on my helmet right at my eye level with no buffeting ,will try taller shield setting tomorrow. the bike is clean as it should be from the dealer , the old bike never looked so old till I had them in the same parking lot . 7 years I have had the 12 , it lived its entire life outside as I have no garage . mostly its on the porch if its idle ,in the drive with a cover if I am riding everyday.... testament to how well Yamaha has made these bikes to play outdoors. (not sure how a GS would fair under similar conditions. ) the 2 riding modes are just that , there is a difference . touring is smooth and easy , sport is some what abrupt . will no more tomorrow in this area. I feel good about this purchase , I got a great deal , the dealership woods cycle country in New Braunfels Texas has always treated me right . so that's all I have tonight.

Enjoy playing with the new ride. Frankly I'm jealous - too cold for my old bones here in the UK & still plenty of salt around.
Am just up the road from you in Northants, pretty sure it’s all salt free around here. Looking warmer early next week, might head out.

Congrats on the new bike. You keep you right hand on the bars when using CC. It's just that you don't have to grip it tightly, there is enough play that normal grip is fine. And if needed, you can just speed up and then relax and it goes back to the setting. If you roll the throttle forward, it shuts off CC. If you clutch or brake, CC shuts off. You will discover that the shut off is a little abrupt. I found that physically adding some throttle until the bike was just speeding up before canceling cruise control made for a smooth transition. You develop a feel for taking up the slack prior to canceling the CC, but it's not a necessary thing either.

thanks EricV , been practicing this morning , the CC is great . I was being a bit facetious when talking about what to do with right hand ... safety says both hands on bars always (but now I can take my hand off briefly and give it a rest or stretch etc. ) and the engine braking is alive and well when it comes off CC, that's for sure. and I figured out how to counter it or not . engine braking can be useful . anyone notice my first Farkle .... so I cut short my fun cause wife asked me to help her around the house ..... but she is not here and a man can only take so much. funny I may be starting to like the paint scheme...
