Thanks for sharing. I been there a couple of times, but had no idea about the history of the plane. The airport is close to the closed Jungle Habitat where used to go mountain biking.
This place has also a lot of history and rumors

I sure do remember Jungle Habitat, went there once when it was still open many, many, many moons ago.
Some of the animals there should have never been allowed to roam around in the open like they did!

I did a mountain bike race at Jungle Habitat once many years ago before I started motorcycling again. Cool, creepy place.

Today, being Thanksgiving, I try and go out for a quick loop before heading to eat and get fatter.

I haven't seen styrofoam outside of Asia for many years. I'm surprised it is legal in Texas. Surely not in California though.

By the looks of that burger containing real meat, they aren’t at a McD or BK. I believe about every state has outlawed chain usage, not mom and pop shops. Note to self, New stop when in Texas.

Rode down to the Metal Mule factory in Dorset today. It pissed down all the way there and all the way back but it was a great test for my Rukka suit and new Keis heated vest and insoles. Toastie warm and bone dry still when I got home. Winter holds no fear for me.
Except snow...
And ice...
don’t fancy trying to keep an S10 upright on slippery surfaces..

I took mine down a narrow wet sandy farm road today. It suddenly turned into wet La. gumbo mud. Font tire balled up and down she went. It was a nice 2 miles walk out. I've hauled ass down the same road in a pouring rain on my cr500 a hundred times

If riding in mud is your thing, raising the front fender would be a must do mod. Doesn’t take much to lock up the front.
