It would be MY choice. I love the FJR, but slow speed handling is not it's forte'. The RT is very good, as long as it can be traded in before the problems start. The ST1300 is fine, no real complaints, BUT the Tenere….nimble, quick, fast, and can hop curbs....perfect tool for the job. But, s**t can the OE bags, and that stupid telescoping rear emergency light.

EDIT: I forgot one of the most important reasons/feature of the Tenere….rear brake only. BMW used to have separate front & rear brake activation for LE, but not anymore.

Here's one from the archive, circa 1968.

I witnessed something similar, as a lad, when De Gaulle was under threat from the OAS - they ran with a huge pack of armed officers who closed all the roads ahead to allow the entourage to speed through. It seemed threatening at the time, my parents & I being stopped at gunpoint, but would seem almost comically insecure today.

Our petrol team using GSA, but that is for show.. in reality, Yamaha Nmax 150cc
I had to spend a good deal of time in BKK and wouldn't be surprised if those Bimmers are for escorting VIPs. Few others got a bike with more than 250 cc.

Lane splitting, maybe....but, not during pursuits. And, the OE bags might be perfect for them....I don't know what THEIR duties are.

French police have always been running TDM's -- so no wonder they go to the S10 when the time comes for new bikes.
