Switchable tcs/abs is do-able. Just software. TFT display, probably. Lighter is hard/expensive, but maybe.

Gear indicator when stopped? That's a new engine case. $$$, but maaaybe.

LED headlights? Probably.

Turbo option? Probably not, but will happen on the MT bikes.

Lighter? Hmmm, expensive. Probably not. It's not the R1, after all.

Not to much to change I say. Below is where I would like to see improvements.
TFT display; smooth out dash plastic with this change.
One hand movable windscreen; look at Ducati Multistrada, Honda VFX, etc.
Streamline, slightly, the front plastic with above changes.
Remove nooks and crannies on rear fender; a cleaner look.
Removable crossbrace above valve cover such as the one on the FJR; makes checking valves easier.
Extend tip over guards approximately a half inch out.
Folding tip on shift lever.
Level the seat with using correct bumpers from the factory...

I can't figure out how not one engineer from all these clever companies has not come out with the one thing the seems most logical for an ADV bike and that's a high mounted display that will clone your phone or GPS screen for navigation while still showing you your basics, speed, temp and what not. Why in the world are we still having to finagle a crappy, shaky mount to the tops of our dash or on the side of the h-bar. Nothing takes away more of my attention than trying to see my darn phone in a shaky RAM mount while hoping it doesn't eject it for the entirety of my trips. Heck my budget fishing GPS can clone an image in real time to my phone. Where's the tech moto industry?

The reason is simple. Factory does not want you to be distracted and crashed by a screen placed by "them". If the accident happens by looking a gps that "you" put, it's your problem. In cars with oem gps a warning message appears, but it is not to warn you, it is to get rid of guilt. The message in my truck, is in spanish, simplifying, says that if you look at this screen you can cause an accident

It is like LED lights, it is known that they produce more Lumens than halogens. In my country the law requires that vehicles that leave the factory with LED lights, to have automatic height regulation in low light and high light, to avoid dazzling. The common complaint of many users (myself included) is that both (high and low) led light are very low. It is not enough to drive at night. If you add supplements to the optics / lantern to raise them, the automatic level goes back down. For me, I drive a lot at night (in truck, not bike)it's a problem. The H4 90/100 W...for me, are the best for nigth ride, old, for today's technology, but effective

Evolution not revolution! Some nice sensible changes called for here.

I think that the KISS principal applies. I have read calls for more power, but with more power comes more electronics and more complications and one of the beauties of the SuperTen is it is relatively simple when compared to BMWs, Ducati’s and KTMs etc. I raced on circuits and enduros, but do I want 150bhp from a dirt/dual purpose bike? I don’t think so! Maybe that says more for my skill level but I raced at National level in both disciplines in U.K. so I think I am capable of getting the best out of my bikes given the state of roads and speed limits in U.K. Also, because of the electronics on modern bikes, riders ambitions often exceed their abilities and they end up riding outside their comfort zone.

Going back to the 60s, the Isle of Man was being lapped at average speeds of 100mph + by Manx Nortons, Matchless G50s and Triumph Bonnevilles producing between 50 and 60bhp. These bikes were ridden by very talented individuals with old technology brakes, tyres, suspension, etc. Now riders have hi-tech tyres, suspension, brakes and engines and they are asking for 3x the power on a dirt bike!!! And the majority still couldn’t get close to a 100mph lap!

I ain’t the least bit interested in more horse power.
Manufacturers seem possessed with vibrating twin cylinders but I’d love to try a smooth three cylinder.
Has Yamaha ever built any DCT transmissions ?
I guess not many folks would be interested in a nice smooth running 800 cc shaft driven ADV bike but I sure would.

I like the sound of that and with DCT transmission too :)
