Hi all, 3 sleeps away from picking up a 2010, 64,000k blue S-ten.
Flying north with my 12 y/o son and spending a week touring our way home, including a 4 hour ferry crossing.
Will be close to a 1000k trip home. Bike has Givi luggage and air screen. Looking forward to putting some miles on it.
I have been reading various threads on maintenance/issues.
YST.com looks like a great active forum with lots of good information.
I look forward to chatting with some of you in the future.
Kind regards Mike. BF3DAE37-FF3B-40CA-9CC6-EA45650A5C6B.png

Welcome. And that's some dedication to get your bike. I'm such a slacker. All I had to do is drive 20 minutes into the next town

Thanks for the welcomes, they are available in my town but expensive and lacking kit.
Any excuse for an adventure and I’m in

Welcome Mike and good luck with the new bike.

Was in NZ in late Feb this year, did a big loop of the South Island, will go back some day and hire a bike. Cracking biking roads in places!

February is a nice time of year here, did you ride while you were here or drive? I live in Canterbury and picking the bike up just South of Auckland. I haven’t been up that way for years so going to ticky tour our way down and show my son some of the country. Really looking forward to it.

I hired a car as I was going onto Australia for a month after and the bike thing wasn't going to work with all the luggage I had.

Rough route was, Christchurch, Arthur's Pass, Greymouth then south past the glaciers to Haast, Wanaka, Te Aneu, Milford Sound, Gore, Dunedin, Omaru and back to Christchurch. So many good memories of NZ, very scenic place.
Enjoy your trip and post some pics.

Thought I would share some photos of our 1700 k trip to bring the bike home.
Basically some beautiful NZ scenery, me bleeding the rear brake in a camping ground and finally making it home.
Apart from the rear brake the bike ran like a dream. An amazing trip that we didn’t want to end. Here’s to many more. 8B42D5B7-16F1-4754-8992-BB2EEEE908E8.jpegF5990D7F-F97B-43FD-8253-A75752CC1E42.jpeg3F9B883D-0A3D-42D0-A091-875086B77701.jpeg784D658A-5764-420E-B207-80F02F6E8B9E.jpeg0F160AD2-06F0-4D87-B13B-7E99FB0E5472.jpeg
