Agreed; I don't judge WHY a person requires a plate/placard. I just want people to be HONEST when/why they use them. I knew a woman who drove her Firebird to the gym, parked in one of only a few handicap spaces, and took a cross-fit class. Meanwhile, another woman had to be helped to her car, in general parking, that had MS. When I brought this to the attention of the Firebird driver, she told me to mind my own business. Little did she know....

I have been known to hock a loogy on a drivers window for illegal handicap parking
Watched a guy pour molasses on someones windshield and door handles who had parked in an "Accessible" parking spot without a placard.
Would imagine the owner had quite a time dealing with that mess.

what my handicap was, I kept walking and said that’s not my bike but I was parked close enough to hear the conversation when the owner of the motorcycle came out, the cop asked him the same question and the guy said I’m not handicapped but my wife is she had a stroke and lost her toes on one foot so she can’t walk very far, pretty soon the wife came walking out, if the guy hadn’t mentioned the toes I probably wouldn’t have noticed she had trouble walking but she did, the cop didn’t say much he just got back in his car and left. He did have a handicap license plate from the state of Indiana on his bike.
.
I wonder if the cop violated HIPPA by asking that question for no apparent reason..?

Another point in response to several posts in this thread is that handicaps come in all shapes and sizes, some are easily recognizable others not so much. Judgmental actions with or without knowing the persons history are juvenile.
Maybe you are not close to handicapped person, or (count your blessings) aren't handicapped yourself, at least try to have a little patience and understanding for those in that situation.

So, when you spit on an unplacarded car's window, or pour grease on it, or molasses over it, and then the guy in the wheelchair and his non-handicapped friend come out of Walmart and get into the friend's car, does that still count as a "win"?
When I see a guy whip in the auto parts store and park in the handicapped spot. Then jump out and haul ass in with no sign of being diabled or a placard. Yes I will serve him up an oyster on his window. I saw a local lawyer whip in the grocery store one day. He parked right in front of the door on the yellow lines. I've seen him playing tennis and yes he got a load too.

No one 'wins'. Parking in an Accessible spot with out a placard is an offense, both legally and morally.

So, if that handicapped person gets into his friend's car that isn't placarded and is parked in a handicap spot, his friend has committed a moral offense by parking there? And the substance of the moral offense was to park in a spot designed specifically for his friend to accommodate his friend's disability? If you go by the definition of "morals", an individual's own principles of what's right and wrong, then it seems that the moral offense would be committed by not parking in the handicap spot to accommodate his disabled friend.

So you actually have to see the person park the car to trigger the spit rule?
yes. I have a brother that is in great shape to be 60. He was bitchin about a ticket he got for parking in a handicap spot. I told him to stfu.
