My gen 1 was off by about 7-8% at 100 kph. My gen 2 is off by about 4-5% at 100 kph. I installed a Speed-O-Healer on my gen 1 and dialed it in to be an exact match to my gps speed. When I did the same on my gen 2, it messed up the gear indicator if I put in more than 3% correction...

When my low fuel warning light starts to flash, it only takes 17 litres to fill the tank (rated at 23L capacity). But I know that I can still ride at least another 75 Kms with a low fuel warning before running out. Trial and error and experience will inform you.

I am intrigued. I owned a 2004 gen 1 KLR for about 4 or 5 years. Averaged 25,000 Kms per year on that bike. It was to be bike #3 in my stable but soon became my everyday ride. I enjoyed the bike... not very capable, lots of shortcomings but it seemed to have character and provided me...

If I recall correctly, I had to trim mine with a dremmel tool to get it back in place.

I ride in weather ranging from 0 - 35 C. I use a Klim Latitude jacket and mesh overpants. In cold weather I use a heater liner and heated gloves and throw a waterproof or thermal liner in the overpants. My everyday riding boots are gore-tex waterproof and have lots of wiggle room for the toes.

I have a 2015 ES. My right side box fits like yours....It has been like that for 5 years now. I don't think I have an issue.

I have the booster plug installed. It does not impact or change the coolant temperature reading. The ambient air temperature reading will be 20C lower than reality. The coolant temperature reading is still accurate. John

Could be that you need to bleed the clutch lines. There may be some air in the lines or air seeping in.... I had problems with the friction zone on my bike and having the clutch fluid changed fixed my issue.
