    CAM Chain Timing/Tensioner??

Retracting the stock CCT to reinstall is a pain! I used a vice with rubber on each side of the vice to help prevent slippage. Push and twist. I bought a Graves manual CCT for one of my S10, much easier. Also I use this shim calculator http://www.dirtcloud.com/valveshim no calculations...

Oil light coming on for a while..

yes the oil light sometimes happens, usually on a cold morning for maybe a mile at start up, especially if you're going uphill. It's not a big deal, especially if you know you have plenty of oil in the engine. It goes off soon enough. You can always stop, turn off the engine, turn it back on and...

I have a 2023 Super Tenere, the owner's manual says 91 octane fuel?

use what ever fuel you want to or have access to. I've ridden over 370,000 miles on my two Super Teneres and I'd say +80% of the time I've used 87 octane. To each their own but I know 87 isn't going to screw up your engine. Might it feel smoother and get better mileage, maybe, maybe not. Most...

    Swingarm bearing question

I need to look at my shock linkage bearings soon when I have the shock serviced. I'm sure some will need replacing, I remember the V-Strom had some bad ones, a small crunching sound alerted me to their failure.

While riding around today this happened

I have detailed write ups on ADV and Stromtrooper if you'd like to check them out. Basically it was just routine/basic maintenance. I had the front brake light switch go bad, the water pump impeller separate from its shaft, a stator replacement and few clutch slave seal replacements. No major...

While riding around today this happened

My Suzuki V-Strom had 437,000 miles on it when I retired it. So the Tenere is a little over half way there :)

While riding around today this happened

This happened on my 2014 today. I bought it used Oct 2016 with 9K on the odometer. It was my primary bike until I bought my 2016ES in Jan 2021, which now has 153K and is my long distance tourer and rally bike. Other than routine maintenance and wear items both have had no problems to speak of. I...

I have a 2023 Super Tenere, the owner's manual says 91 octane fuel?

I run through about a tank a day, so I use 87 octane due to overall cost. With over 350K SuperTenere miles, no issues that I know of. When gas is really cheap I'll put in the 91 as a treat.

    20K Maintenance

I change my plugs every 60,000 miles, no issues. I don't use anti-seize either.
