    ABS light issues

Rode home from work, 52 miles, 61 degrees. ABS light was off when I left, blinked once or twice over the first couple miles, then off all the way home. Stopped for gas, light off last couple of miles.

    ABS light issues

Rode to work today, 52 miles, temp 57 degrees. ABS light was off when I left the house, blinked on twice in first two miles, then off the rest of the way to work. I think the blinks indicate the issue is still there, but mostly gone away. I too am in the loose wire/connection camp.

    ABS light issues

Test last night 57 degrees, left the house and ABS light came on after about 1/2 mile. Light blinked on/off like previous tests, RPM related. After about 5 miles light went out, flickered on a couple times over next 5 miles. Stopped for about 15 minutes to shop. Ride back home light was off the...

    ABS light issues

There is a process documented on the forum here, and also in the service manual. Basically to read, find the connector under the seat, jump two wires with a paper clip, turn on key. ABS light will blink. Record the blinks, write them down. Check the service manual for meaning of the codes. If...

    ABS light issues

Good point, I don't honestly know if my issue is resolved or not. But I have had better results as of late. My ABS light was on for months and thousands of miles. With Winter, and life stuff, I wasn't able to really dig into issue until recently. Replacing the front tire did not resolve my issue...

    ABS light issues

Sounds like you have a lot going on with the bike. You can read what I have done recently. Start by reading the codes of the ABS. Mine initially had a few, I cleared them, they didn't return. I think if the light goes off, and stays off for a bit, there are no codes.

    ABS light issues

Latest test, after doing two things as suggested above, removing/reconnecting the two connectors circled above, and removing the fuse and twisting the connectors a little to make a better connection. 55 degrees, light was off from the get go, only blinked twice in 3 miles. ABS works as expected...

    ABS light issues

Excellent point, I forgot that. When I had the ABS switch, or really even before I would turn off ABS, light would come on, and stay on until the key was cycled. To be clear, if I turn my ABS switch off, light comes on, ABS doesn't work. While riding turn switch on, ABS light stays on, ABS...

    ABS light issues

I checked those two connectors, they were tight. I took the bolts out and checked the connections, they were very clean, no sign of corrosion. Reinstalled bolts.

    ABS light issues

Good to know, I have never ridden with the plug under the seat jumped, but have jumped that plug many times to check for ABS codes.

That is certainly possible. That area expands when warm and makes better connection.

    ABS light issues

Well the results of my 52 mile ride home from work at 72 degrees, ABS light was on for the first mile or so, then off the rest of the way. So light off and didn't come on at all for about 50 miles. And yes ABS does function keeping rear wheel from locking when I purposely tried to lock it up.

My problem did start after removing front wheel, and removing headlights for turn signal change. Interesting note about warpage, I hadn't seen that in service manual, I need to look that up and see the process.

    ABS light issues

Correct. ABS works correctly, based on the light being off or on. I have no codes for the ABS, the last 10 times I have checked. Once the ABS light goes off, everything is normal. After enough time/distance light doesn't come back on, ABS works as it should. The light isn't ever always on, it...
