2010 Super Tenere no speed reading

One thing not mentioned here is to check wheel bearings for play or movement. The speed sensor runs off of a air gap with the tone wheel on the wheel hub. If there is excessive play the ECU will get a erratic reading and thus turn on the light. Another way to check and maybe your mech. did this...

    damn side stand..

I have a 2012 and yes it leans heavily to the left. I thought that it was bent from a dirt nap it took, apparently not. If the gen 2 is aluminum wouldn't it be possible to remove it and put a slight bend in it? Or should I say "adjust it" to your liking? This would cost nothing, unless you went...

    More noise with crashbars

YES! And it does work( i.e. Great Stuff ). You will need to drill a small hole for the straw at the end of each tube, and make sure you get all of them. A length of hose that you will throw away after ensures that you will get it in all the places needed. It is very messy to do. As far as the...

How do you remove Yamaha top box ?

Had that happen to me last summer. Drove 25 miles before I noticed it was missing. Backtracked almost to home when a mexican friend stopped me and asked me if I was missing something. He laughed and said follow me. Some battle wounds on it but still works fine. I now have a bolt through the...

Picking up a dropped Super Tenere

It's not that hard to pick up if you weren't on it when it wen't over. My problem is that I'm usually hobbling around and wondering if I have any broken ribs, then looking back at the bike and thinking " How the hell am I going to pick that up?'

Need a skid plate if staying on tarmac?

My bike is a 12 and I feel that the Mastech skid plate is pretty much a knock off of the tourtech minus the extra plate on the bottom for less $$. The mounting is identical. I believe its 11ga aluminum. As was mentioned I would agree that it is not made for "off road" use. However it wouldn't...

Need a skid plate if staying on tarmac?

I do have it and no you don't have to remove the side stand. I did however use a Dremel and made it so I can drain the oil. It is possible to remove the filter without removing the skid plate but it's kinda a pain. I just remove the front bolts and drop it down a bit. With the S-10 You may say...

Need a skid plate if staying on tarmac?

Check out the mastech. It's simple and relatively inexpensive anddoesn't mount to the sump. http://www.accessoryinternational.com/merchant2/graphics/00000003/mastech-skid-plate-yamaha-super-tenere.jpg

Need a skid plate if staying on tarmac?

Had a small piece of plastic stick itself in my oil filter shortly after I got my bike. Didn't notice it until the next day. There was a small spot of oil under the bike. One qt low in 350 mi. The beer can thing and a hose clamp would be better than nothing.

Seat Concept - Gripper vs Embossed top

i have the seat concepts embossed. It works very well for me. And when on the road I found myself not moving around much at all. I'm a big fan of the seat.

Question I get asked a lot: Why the S10 vs a GS. Whats your answer?

Starbucks? Who can afford that? I buy Japanese coffee, you can buy it just about anywhere and it taste soooo much better knowing that I saved money.
