    Corrosion inside rims?

Yes, little silver areas inside the rim, powdery until scothbrite then smooth. Not just the bead area but scattered throughout inside of rim. I have always used commercial grade tire lube to install (using buddy's tire machine at his moto shop). No bead sealer. Balanced with weights when needed.

    Corrosion inside rims?

Anybody have corrosion inside their rims? 2012 ST with 60K miles. I am having slow air leaks around the bead on my last 2 sets of E07 tires due to corrosion where the tire beads to the rim. Have removed tires, cleaned, and scotchbrited the bead surface. I am reluctant to aggressively sand where...

    Tenere seat recommendations

I recommend Terry's Custom seats in Manchester TN. I was the first Tenere seat he did a few years ago and it is great. I had a Russell on my honda st1300 and this compares nicely for a lot less cost. I have done several 800 mile days back to to back, a few 1000 mile days and routine 500 milers...

    HARD START

Well, it is usually the simplest solution as many of you pointed out. 14s battery arrived today, bike fired right up. Many thanks for all the input. I have never had a 19 month Yuasa go out before but you live and learn. Should have load tested as suggested right up front. I usually replace...

    HARD START

Good input guys, it truly is a global forum. Think I will take suggestions and do the following: 1. wait on 14s, fully charge on the bench, install and give it a try. 2. If no go, check/replace the plugs 3. Check coils (not sure how to do this?? Is there a procedure (I have a service manual...

    HARD START

No, just minor pop and slight speed up of rpm sound like it was trying to start. No actual running

    HARD START

Did what Juan and previous poster suggested and still no start. Battery was jumped and turned over strong. two tries with no throttle about 10 seconds or so each. A couple of pops. Waited a few minutes and tried wot - again it tried but never caught. Am disheartened and have things to do today...

    HARD START

If it does not start with closed throttle after 30 second - After letting it cool for 30 minutes, do I try again with closed or wot throttle? Thx again, Jack

    HARD START

Thanks again fellas, When I jump start (or if I get the new 14s I ordered and install before I try next) should I start with no throttle or throttle wide open? The bike has been sitting since Tuesday night. Thx again

    HARD START

Thanks guys for the input. The battery is 19 months old, not 5 years - and has been maintained on a tender and the bike ridden several times a week if not daily. I understand the flashing is a weak battery but it was after cranking for many minutes. I will jump start next time I try and will...
