I don't consider the Versys 1000 an ADV bike. It's got a 17 / 17 rim setup. Upright touring, sure, but I don't think I'd want to do any real offroading with it.
Bet it would be great for 2 up touring though :)
Glad you got it working!
If I had to take a WAG I'd go with 'oil on the rotors' over 'mixed pads' as the root cause. Either way, having brakes is >> than not ;)
I've not yet found a situation on the road where the Anakee3 didn't have plenty of grip. That includes hard loaded runs through twisties as well as fully unloaded.
If these are better, they should really stick :)
Also put me down in the 'no wrench' camp. I hand tighten and have never had a leak.
Good reminder that some of those parts are actually fairly 'sensitive' to overtightening! @holligl: glad the fix isn't going to be expensive!
Rode to where it got to wintery and slimy and explored a bit further, but ended up turning back as I was solo before heading too far off the beaten path.
But good to be out on the big girl
Same, I've run a couple of A3's and I like the rear a lot (never ran the front). It's my go-to pavement focused tire and it's what I picked for my cross-Canada trip in 2022. Didn't regret it.
Different measurement system. Those numbers are not the same as North American numbers.

Again, while it maybe safe to run a lower than recommended Oct rating (I've done it myself) due to knock & O2 sensors pre and post cat, the best performance will come from the...
Sure, it's possible. but I value my time, this was the quickest most effective way to get it solved :)
My bike is originally from the US, but was imported to Canada. Recall stuff can be tricky. <shrugs> You got to fight your battles.
Instead of fighting the dealer (apparently the headlight harness recall was done on my 2012 but it melted anyway) I just got a standard H7 connector from an autoparts store. Helps to have a friend because it's tight in there, but very basic fix. I want to say it was a $10 part (maybe less)
