Tenere Scared me the other day!

That's one of the symptoms that the wiring harness recall was supposed to fix. Not sure if it applied to the '15 model, but worth checking.

Happy 8th birthday! Who's still has their S10 from the first US batch?

Just came across this! Some might remember - we raised money for Japanese tsunami relief, and sent this poster to the workers who finally got our bikes to us, after a 5 month delay due to the tsunami. Somewhere there is a photo of the workers at the factory, grouped around a Super Tenere, and...

Happy 8th birthday! Who's still has their S10 from the first US batch?

Look forward to catching up somewhere Bob! I'm in Romania a bit longer, then Poland/Germany, then way south to Faro, Portugal by October. Don't spose you're likely to be anywhere on that route?

Happy 8th birthday! Who's still has their S10 from the first US batch?

Close but not quite! I was in Lesvos, but the artwork was from kids at Idomeni, on the border between Greece and Macedonia, stuck there when Macedonia closed the border. 15,000 people stuck for months, terrible situation, and very boring for refugees, the kids especially. Anything to keep them...

Happy 8th birthday! Who's still has their S10 from the first US batch?

Ha ha good to hear about the upcoming retirement! And always nice to have other bikes to share around the riding time. I have three now, but due to geographical issues, only ever one at a time :D - S10 in Europe, SV650 in Australia, and Honda CB300F in Thailand. Different bikes, all great in...

    CCT Question

Too early, noise is normal. Yes replace your CCT when you get a chance - like at the next valve service - but don't dig into the bike JUST to change the CCT (unless you're already over like 60,000 miles). My first gen CCT failed at 78,000 miles, lucky to get away with no bent valves. I lifted...

Happy 8th birthday! Who's still has their S10 from the first US batch?

I wish! That was day one. This is her 2920 days later :p - no major problems, 2 cam chain tensioners and an alternator, cracked rim... bad ABS unit because I didn't change the brake fluid in a timely manner!

Happy 8th birthday! Who's still has their S10 from the first US batch?

I'm seeing all the guys in Europe taking delivery of their long-awaited Tenere 700's, and I'm reminded of the long wait we had for the Super Tenere in the States. I had paid a deposit on it a year before - it had delayed for 5 months by the tsunami in Japan. I think I paid $14,200 for mine, from...

    Post your mileage.

My blue 2012 is 8 years old today, and just turned over 150,000 miles. Two cam chain tensioners, an alternator, a rear rim (well two but the second doesn't count cos it was wrongly laced). At 100,000 miles the fuel filter was totally blocked, would have just changed the filter but Yamaha Germany...

    bike misbehaving in norway

There are aftermarket possibilities a whole lot cheaper - Mitsubishi IIRC - but I guess you've already ordered and/or can't afford the time to search for alternatives...

    Boiling over... what?

I found a workshop that had a Hayabusa radiator cap that fits. An afternoon riding around in Bucharest traffic, and the radiator didn't boil again... so it's looking like the "new" cap fixed it. Only problem is, I had to pay the new price for a cap from a 2007 Hayabusa, since the guy will have...

    Boiling over... what?

Hmm 2 auto shops in Bucharest, no luck. Yamaha dealer says 2 weeks to get the part. Scouting for other options grrr

    Boiling over... what?

Looking for coolant today in Bulgaria, not straightforward as most of the text on the bottles are in Bulgarian or Russian. Most bottles were concentrates, and then the places selling it didn't have the necessary distilled water to mix with it. I did find some pre-mixed but couldn't determine if...

    Boiling over... what?

Checked the radiator, full to the brim. Put about 300ml of distilled water in the coolant tank. Let's see how we go today... Change fluid tomorrow.
