    Fond farewell

I feel your pain. At 66, I was finding the Super Tenere a little too heavy and unwieldy too, so I traded mine in last year on a brand new Yamaha FJ-09. No regrets. Dealing with a chain is a bit of a hassle, but both the Super Ten and the FJ are great bikes! Cheers, Bruce

    Yamaha boxes

I have aftermarket side cases and a factory top box on my Super Tenere. I consistently ride with all of them attached, and have had no issues over the past four years. As others have suggested, I never put anything heavy in the top box.

    The retirement thread

Well, this is a timely thread. I just submitted my retirement notice this week. I will be "off the books" as of August 31, 2017, but out the door on August 10. I like my job, but am looking forward to having more free time to ride, work out, play my guitars, etc., etc. Also, we all have a...

Exhausts - Need Advice - Feedback

I have an Akrapovic on my 2012. I love it. It is marginally louder than the stock exhaust, but throatier and more authoritative. The Akra is basically plug and play. It fits exactly as the original silencer and the stock heat shield can be left in place. I can't comment on the other enhancements...

    Opinions on a Better Jacket

::026:: Following my weight loss diet, I needed new riding gear, so I have been transitioning to Klim this year. I purchased an Induction jacket for hot-weather riding and recently bought a Blade jacket for cooler days. I also bought Klim Voyage Air Pants. This gear is the most comfortable...

Why is the S10 not included in comparison reviews?

Funny you should say that. I purchased my Super Tenere in July 2013 immediately after returning from an aborted trip to Alaska, cut short because my Moto Guzzi Stelvio, with oodles of "character" let me down so repeatedly with electrical faults, my riding companions eventually had to carry on...

    Seeking your opinion

I agree with everything you have said. My 2012 has been as reliable as a stone axe during the three years I have owned it. I have replaced a couple of headlight bulbs and had the updated clutch basket installed (not an issue for more recent models,) and there was a recall for the headlight...

Genuine Yamaha Super Tenere Tank Bag - SOLD

I see that this item is sold. Just an FYI, these bags absolutely do have a large magnet in the base. I have had one for my Super Ten for the past three years. The hook on the front and the clip on the back are just for extra security. -Bruce

Sold my ST1300, time to look for a Super Tenere ES!

I was in the Sturgeon Falls area last week and was told the Yamaha dealer in Verner (R.L. Equipment) had a white 2013 with low kilometres on it for sale for $11,750. Here is the link to the bike: http://rlequipment.com/preowns/2013-yamaha-super-tenere/ If you are not familiar with the area...

Aerostich Darien Jacket, Grey, Size 48 for sale on eBay

For anyone interested in a size 48 Darien jacket, at a great price, I have mine on eBay. As a result of my diet and exercise program, it is simply far too big for me now. Great jacket. Three years old, in very good condition. The optional back protector pad is included. Check it out here...

    My 2016 clock AM/PM to 24HR ???

Welcome to the forum, aage! My wife and I visited your beautiful country in April, and I loved it. We did a guided glacier hike, an introduction to ice climbing, cave exploration (old lava tubes) and a lot of other great activities. I would very much like to return one day and rent a motorcycle...

TomTom vs Garmin. Your 2 cents please.

I have had a number of different Garmin motorcycle GPS units over the years, and still have a couple of Garmin training watches as well as one designed for bicycle use. I found the motorcycle GPSs to be kind of glitchy over the years. My TomTom Rider has been trouble-free and seems quite...
