Rear Frame Part Number Difference - ES vs. Non-ES

I'm recently trying to piece my 2014 S10 ES back together after having gotten clipped by a 4Runner going about 65 MPH. My panniers and rack were destroyed, but otherwise the bike was rideable. The only other issue is that the rear subframe is bent and crooked.

I found an ebay listing for the regular rear frame (part number 2BS-21190-10-00), but according to the diagram the ES model uses a different part number rear frame (part number 2KB-21190-10-00).

When looking up the diagram, it appears to me that the only difference between these two rear frames is a single damper. I'd prefer to pick up the ebay listing for the cheaper rear frame rather than pay a dealer $650 for a part directly from Yamaha.

Does anyone know whether or not these rear frames are interchangeable? I'm struggling to think of how the ES and the Non-ES models would have any features that would result in the rear frame being different at all. However, at the same time, I'd rather not buy the wrong part only to not be able to return it to the ebay seller.

Thoughts?

Thank you in advance.

Does the ES subframe have additional mounting points for the rear ES pump and cover? I’ve heard that the ES side cover can’t be mounted to the non-ES due to missing lugs/mount points.

I'm honestly not sure. I was hoping someone on this forum would be able to tell me more reliably. I don't have a non-ES to compare it to, and the diagrams aren't much help since they don't go into anything quite that specific. Best I can tell, the drawings are rather generic.

The ES rear suspension adds a lot of parts & plumbing to the bike that the non-ES doesn't have, see diagrams below. There's also a price difference of roughly $14.00 with the non-ES being more expensive which is not what I would have expected.

If you can remove that outer decorative cover and take some close up pics from the right side showing where all the ES plumbing attaches to the subframe someone with a standard model could try to verify whether some of those mounting points are present.

I think you're right on the money. While I'm currently unable to upload a picture, there are a lot more mounting points for the electronic suspension adjustments, so I suspect you've hit the nail on the head.

It is a shame though. I was very much hoping to purchase the used rear frame from ebay rather than having to pay the $600+ from the dealer, but it seems that this will be a necessary expense for the repair. Thank you very much for the assistance.

This was actually one I was looking at, however it doesn't denote the ES model, and doesn't provide the part number, and unfortunately I do not think the regular S10 non-es rear frame will work with the ES model due to the ES model's need for clearance with the electronic suspension pumps.

Thanks for the listing though!

have a look at 4th picture you can see the electronic rear shock hanging there so it has to be a es sub frame you can see the electronic shock on the bike

The seller is representing it as from a “ZE” model, the “E” designating is as a ES model. You can also see the ES pump assembly to the rear of the shock in the 4th photo.

Oh MAN! Good call! Pity the seller doesn't ship to the US. I'll contact the seller and see if an exception can be made. Thank you so much!
