Thinking about it (I was never confused).

You will dig the S10. I also have a Versys (the 650) and the S10 is a great compliment to it. So much so that the Versys doesn't see much riding now that I have the S10 done up.

I have worked on and ridden my friends V1k and they are awesome. I agree shaft drive and CC and I would trade my current 650 in for a 1K. The body position is just so damn good and the bikes are fun to ride.

Enjoy the dirt. It is fun on the Tenere.

This is my Versys, sometime last year, had to get a table home as you can see. You can just see the silver tape where a pigeon hit the fairing when it flew across my path on the motorway (when I was travelling at about 90mph) and put a crack in it. It's got the airflow screen on it there, I switch about between the original small screen, a CalSci short screen and the one shown depending on the weather. No pictures of the new bike until I collect it unfortunately.

Earlier picture about 60k miles before the picture above
Thanks for sharing the pictures, I had one like yours in my scope but end up with the S10, and never drove one like yours but will like to hear your coments on comparing both. Have a nice weekend!

You should be able to transfer your Givis over to the Tenere. With the correct hardware of course.

I'm keeping the boxes. Looking around on UK sites for Givi frames and one is saying:-

"*** DUE TO THE FACT THAT WE STILL HAVE PROBLEMS RECEIVING DELIVERIES FROM GIVI ITALY AND GIVI UK WE HAVE SADLY RESORTED TO TURN OFF THE FACILITY TO BUY PRODUCTS FROM OUR ONLINE STORE FOR THE TIME BEING. AS SOON AS THE SITUATION IMPROVES YOU'LL BE ABLE TO PLACE ORDERS ONCE MORE. SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE CAUSED AND THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING. *** "

Which is a bit worrying!

My mate just texted me and is taking my part exchange Versys off my hands for the same money. We had always joked that because of the mileage he could buy it for the pittance offered by a dealer when part ex time came. He had a ride on Wednesday and then I told him about the £1600 part ex agreement. He has thought about it for a few days and he's taking it now. Apparently my new bike is at the dealer, waiting on the centre stand and grab rails.

Picked it up this morning and rode it home, bouncing off every road bump.

I rode to the shop in east London on the Versys with my mate on the back, then he rode the Versys back to his home and the ST and I headed the 50 miles back to north Essex.

Just gone over the suspension settings and the clickey wheel at the bottom of the shock was on maximum so I have reset it to the standard 'clickiness' mentioned in the handbook to see how I get on. Also moved the handlebar controls to the angle I can reach the levers more comfortably.

I have a site meeting tomorrow, so it's a cross country run to London to see if it's less jarring over bumps, get that out of the way then back home again.
