Anybody having both bikes? Moving from the mighty Tenere to the Scram 1200? Anybody ridden both and any impressions to share? Thanks folks!

Yee haw! That Scrambler is awesome. It is just plain fun. The Tenere is more comfortable for long road trips but the Scrambler is just all around fun.

I am lucky enough to have both the S10 and the XE in my stable

The XE is a 'raw' brilliant bike for a day out on the local twisties (I don't do off road intentionally). It's a hooligan bike with quick steering, massive torque and plenty of power. It will out handle the S10 on narrow, winding roads. Your speed is limited by the fact it is a naked bike so is the power is normally reserved for quick overtakes. I wouldn't like to travel long distance on the motor/freeway on the XE

The S10 is a far more accomplished tourer and is acceptable on the winding roads10.jpeg

IMHO they are different bikes for different rides and very difficult to compare. It all depends on how you are going to use it

Each to his own, but the Triumph Scrambler is an ugly PoS. The Bonneville, Speed Twin, Bobber and Thruxton are all lovely in my eyes, but the Scrambler...... Sorry, not for me.

WOW Mike!! That is a beautiful bike. I have a soft spot in my heart for Triumph's.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are many "retro" designs that I like. . . . that's just not one of them. :) It is a bunch of motor for the size though.

I think the Scrambler looks absolutely superb. I’d have one in a heartbeat if it could take hard luggage but unfortunately that beautiful exhaust gets in the way!

I really like those scramblers. I was WOW when i saw them too. I have not rode one but for me they hit the mark with retro styling combined with modern suspension and brakes.

The Scramblers are absolutely drop dead gorgeous. Only input I have to give as I've never ridden one. The looks though, my gawwddd...

Another bike that may be worth consideration, that I also have never ridden, is the Guzzi V85. Kinda mixes the retro beauty of the Scrambler, with some of the touring function of the Tenere

I had a 1200XE and after having the rear shocks resprung and revalved (which helped but not enough) I sold it just months after. It has a great engine, it looks amazing, sounds good, but one of the most uncomfortable bikes I have ever ridden. My friend has an S1000RR HP4, and his rear suspensions was more compliant than on my XE. I had a 2010 and 2015 Triumph Scrambler and I absolutely LOVED those bikes. On paper the XE is superior in every way, but in reality, riding 300km in a day on that felt like 800km on any of my previous bikes.

I'd say the Super10 is one of the most comfortable bikes I've tried, and the XE one of the least comfortable. The best advice I can give to anyone looking at the XE is don't buy without trying. I know many are happy with it, but I've also seen quite a few disappointed by the suspensions. Even Triumph customer support acknowledged that they received quite a few complaints about it...

I sold it to buy an Africa Twin, which was 10X more comfortable and now I'm about to pull the trigger on a ST 2021 (new) because I think it's even superior to the Africa in terms of touring machine :)
