Not for everyone but man this is a really hard deal to beat. I have used Twisted Throttle in the past and they are a solid company to deal with. When they have a sale you need to jump on it. I can't believe the price. Even for guys who don't normally run a knobby this is a smoking deal for a set of Super Tenere tires.

This one goes to 78.48 when you put it in your cart:

Good find. You might go ahead and put E09/E10 in the subject line, (or at least in your first post), to avoid confusion with people looking for E07 Dakar tires. The E09 & E10 are more dirt oriented and a great choice for some riders, but lack the longevity of the E07 version.

Mitas quit making the Dakar version of the E07 about 2 years ago. Pretty common knowledge. And I'm pretty certain every single member of the Super Tenere community knows I would never ever recommend a tire for longevity. I'm all about traction and safety in the dirt.

The E09 is a more dirt worthy tire. It is almost a true full blown knobby. Just barely street legal. The E10 is more like a traditional "big block" tire that will give you fairly safe traction on pavement and safe travels off the highway.

Just looking at the E09, The front tire is going to be very squirrelly on the pavement with very little traction in the rain. I personally have no issues with running knobby's on the street. BUT I do know they are very unsafe on the street if I don't practice braking drills for panic stops. Knowing the shortcomings of a knobby on the street is very important. Then you can adjust your riding style to match.

If you are going to do mainly dirt with paved transfer sections then the E09 is a good choice. For cross country touring with short sections of off road then the E10 will be a fantastic tire.

As a disclaimer neither of these tires are a good choice if you loath and whine planning your ride around tire changes.

That's an excellent statement that we should apply to all tires. The first time you try a new to you tire, some drills and braking practice will quickly give you a feel for what they are capable of.

I’m going with street tires next time and it won’t be long before I’m ready. My few off-road excursions told me right away that I’m on the wrong bike.....for me.
I’d love to get back to my roots but a 250 would be more reassuring.

Thanks for the heads up. I usually run Shinko 705 or TKC70 with a K60 and Mitas E07 thrown in there. At this price, I'm game to try some knobs on the big bike.

No matter what you choose, these are some really good prices on tires. I remember spending something like 350.00 on tires for my Ninja over 10 years ago.

I ran through a set of the Terra Force tires when they were introduced a few years ago and enjoyed them. My guess is they get little love due to little marketing here in the US.
