Effectively directs air over hands to upper arm. Made from 1/16" black ABS textured 1 side material (matches material used for dash in-fill plate) fastened to oem hand guard via stainless hardware, hole location will vary as per your preference, 2' x 4' stock ($8) is enough material for 3 extensions.

That looks really good. I've made something to go under my hand guards as I find the wind whips under them, I'll have a go at making these. Thanks for sharing!

Can I ask what you used to cut the ABS? Did you just score it and snap off the excess? Thanks

If you don’t want to make your own you might be interested in these

I’ve been using them for a couple years and they work fairly well, very easy to put on or take off, they use Velcro straps to hold them in place nicely, I was hoping they would keep my gloves dry when riding in rain but I have never had to ride in a lot of rain since getting them.
the Price seems to have gone up think mine cost more like $60.00

I had some kydex laying around from when I was making knife sheaths. Should work fine. ProwlnS10, did you use a heat gun to mold them? Did you just use the brush guards themselves as a mold?

If you have a couple sheets laying around, it also makes good guards for things like the ABS sensors and side-stand switch.

In my work with kydex, I’ve found the best thing is to use a dremel with a cutting wheel to cut the shape and then the dremel with a sander (sanding drum) to smooth the edges. Cutting and snapping only works with straight lines.

See, and I like a bandsaw or scroll saw for major cuts/rounded/angular cuts. I can do the score and snap for straight edges, as well. Dremel is okay, but not ideal as it generates a lot of melted thermoplastic.

I defitely agree. My scrollsaw isn’t ready atm so I use my dremel for a lot. But yes, it causes some waste.

Here’s what I was able to do with kydex. I used a dremel to cut and shape everything but I agree with elricfate that a scrollsaw would’ve been better. The cuts would be a little more clean. Overall the template that ProwlnS10 provided was great! I had to straighten a couple of edges to get it to line up on the backside of the handguard. I used a heatgun to initially curve the kydex to the inside of the guards. I drilled and mounted them then used the heatgun to really conform the kydex to it’s new home and get a more pleasing curve. Thanks prowlnS10 for your post!
