Nothing set in Stone Yet.
I am in.
I was hoping to go this year but time went by quicker than expected.

I would like to do it counter clockwise. L’anse meadows and gros Lorne on the way.
HAAA That's what I wanna hear. Am I correct that June is best? to get away from the Bugs? I have no real preference which way around I go.

I rode that route through Labrador in July 2014 on my KLR, but also added 5 days around Gaspe and 2 weeks in Newfoundland. Used 50/50 Michelin tires and no issue with bugs.F5383869-ECA9-4666-870D-61186362276D.jpeg

VERY COOOL.. I wouldn't ride the s10 Without 50/50's if you want to get of the road at all you end up on dirt, they give my way my confidence. The 80/20's seem to be nervous on dirt and gravel compared to the bite the 50/50 has.

Keep me in the loop on this as we had talked about doing this one in 2020 since we are not going to do Alaska. It was either this, MABDR or South Dakota. We had also talked about going up to L'anse aux and a day at the Viking settlement. Grose Morne for a day or two also.

This trip is on my wish list. Hopefully within the next couple of years with my cousin. He currently has a KLR but thinks he wants a different bike for the trip. The Tenere 700 has his eye right now depending on price when it gets here. Thanks for posting the map. That will be helpful for planning.

Mimsey, what kind of bike are you doing this trip on? I'm assuming a lightweight dual sport of some kind? Looks to be well under 1500 miles.

I am sure a 50/50 would be better for some sections, but many have done it on pure street tires with no issue. I think I watched a vid last year where a couple did it on their Harleys. One was running a 883 sportster.

I currently have 705's on my bike and although I do not care for the feel of the front on gravel if they are still in good shape I will most likely run them.

For me personally. I'm way more comfortable on 50/50. Even when there is very little dirt, they just give me that extra bit of confidence, I started using them on my Quebec trip. Which was mostly asphalt. But on those sections of loose gravel I was glad I had them. I have used the 705's and they as you said are nervous on loose gravel.

I’ve done it twice and the second time I found it boring, if you want remote go ride the Trans- Taiga road Quebec, the most remote road in Canada and the USA.
