Other than gas, food and lodging will be a bit more expensive you should have a great ride.
Lots of options to get you to the start of the Alaska highway in Dawson Creek BC from North Dakota. Fuel is more available on the Alaska highway route north but if you can, don’t miss picking up the Stewart -Cassiar #37 for your return south. Fuel stops are a little more sparse on #37 but no problem on a Tenere even without extra fuel. On that route you can take a little detour to Stewart BC and cross back into Alaska at Hyder for a visit. Overall its a great ride along #37.
Bear spray OK at the border into Canada, they often ask. Mace is not. They will take it away
No guns
And their not keen on knifes but if the use is justified they are often OK with it.
I’ve done these routes a few times in the last few years and it’s always been a very enjoyable ride. With the exception of the weather. It can often get wet for days and even a week at a time even mid summer.
The Alaska milepost publication is a big asset if you haven’t done a ride north before.
