A little long but they mention a new GS with self-levelling suspension...........

While I like some of the new technology that is being put on motorcycles I'm afraid of a BMW machine sporting the latest and greatest. They don't rank high on my personal list of "trusted brands" with respect to reliability and longevity.

But Ron, they need all the new adopter customers they can find, to save them the trouble of Beta Testing.

Like many of us I suspect, I've been there & won't be repeating the experience - perfectly happy to run with a tried & tested BMW though, if it fits my needs. We have had skyhook, so I'm not sure where this takes us, but I seem to recall they tried something akin to this on the rear of some HP2s

There are also 7 as in SEVEN major as in MAJOR upgrades to the transmission to try and make them shift right.  And BMW says there is nothing wrong with the '13-'16 LC boxers, ya right.  Having sold my S10 to buy a '16 RS was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made.  Rates right up there with my first wife.  Actually just sold the RS yesterday and I am rid of it like a toothache.  BMW comes out with a lot of ideas then puts them into production to see if they work right.  As far as brand experience it was the worst I have ever had.

Same as you and Squibb, I too like the BMW, only the last decent one I had was a 2002 1150GS Adv, the 1100GS I had before that was very good and the 1150 was about as good, as was the Rockster, the K1200GT had clutch issues, the the 1200GS I had abs problems........ Demand outstrips supply so quality has to pay. The Jap stuff is good and reliable, but deprecation suffers.

Depreciation?  Ever try unloading a year old BMW?  Unless you trade for another BMW it's as bad or worse than the Jap bikes.
