In the 30's and dropping. Even down here on the Gulf Of Mexico. Seems Canada blew hard this time.

Miserable and wet too.  I don't like it.  :-[

I decided I wanted to install a Garmin GPS and Cell phone mount on my bike. I sat on my bike for a few minutes and really thought about if it was worth it to install the GPS on the wind screen mount. I found that for me personally I had to lean over fairly to press the screen.  This would make It hard to operate while moving. I decided to install on the left handle bar using a U bolt mount from RAM coupled to a medium ball joint. A wide range of possibilities in position and close to the left hand, almost just a finger distance away.

I also installed the Garmin USB power supply using the USB power wire that can be wired directly to a power source. I decided to wire mine into the 3 prong connection under the right Fender. I wired it to the black wire and the brown wire so it powers up when the ignition is on, and off when the key is off.

In addition I also like to use my phone for music so I installed another ubolt but this one had to be a little larger as the diameter of the handlebars differs in the middle versus the grips. It's connected using a short ball joint and x grip. It all works great, hopefully if anyone is looking for mounting solutions this can help.

Ordered a valve cover gasket.  It's time for valve check again.  As soon as the FJR comes off the lift (valve check also) the Super Tenere goes on.  I also have to decide what to do with my suspension.

Dang Mark! You was busy.

Be mindful of the usb adapters as they are parasitic and should be on a switched circuit. I'm sure you know that, but does not hurt to share 'learned' stuffs.

Thanks for the heads up.  I put these on a switched fuse form the EB fusebox.  As I did the LED light bar.  Had thought about putting the light on a switch and separate relay, but it only draws 2-1/2 amps, so is a light load on the 30A EB fusebox.

Am impressed with the Mictuning light bar.  Very bright for about $25, and mounted right up.  Used a dremel to notch out the brackets that came with it where they would interfere with the small areas near the mounting holes under the headlight.  Very easy install.

4°F here, and managed to avoid an injury this morning in a 38 car pileup in heavy freezing drifting fog, but did write off the car, doh!  ::010::

.............. make that 50 car pile, just been updated.

Glad you and your family are safe. We had a snow squall come off Lake Ontario and caused a 100+ pile up. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/highway-401-reopens-in-bowmanville-after-multiple-crashes-involving-more-than-100-vehicles-1.3926177

I installed the protaper raptor bars today.  I used the tips from the U-tube Rox riser video to help me install the bars.  The install took longer than I thought, but it was a good project.  i can't wait to take it on a longer ride.

Checked the valve clearances for the first time and replaced the plugs whilst I was in there. Everything was in spec except one intake valve that is at 0.007". Since it's just slightly on the loose end I decided to leave it. Made the rookie mistake of swapping the throttle servo connector with the one for the 4th coil. No start and an 060 error. Swapped them back and she fired up but it took a bit of cranking and a half-open throttle to get it to catch.

The plugs looked pretty good at 27,300 miles:

No sign of water egress or corrosion at all.

I rode it for 235 magnificent miles through NW Georgia. Riding 365 days is one thing you gotta love about the South. Last long ride was December 29: 330 miles through GA and AL.

With so many reports of valves and spark plugs being clean and in spec at 25,000 miles; I may delay mine for a while. It seems almost everybody who has checked their valves at 25,000 miles, they come back still in spec.

Thanks for the report!

I was thinking about skipping it too, but I didn't want to risk invalidating my YES warranty. Just my impression, but it seems about 50/50 whether the Super -T needs adjustment the first time or not.

Just checked mine at 19k miles. Had one exhaust valve at 0.20 mm.  That is 0.02 mm out of tolerance on the tight side. Had I skipped the first check I may have had some pretty horrible consequences.  The first check is a very important check.

I think you need at least two checks to get an idea of the wear slope.

I disagree about the 1st Valve checks. Most Exhaust Valves are tight first go around . More so if the bike has been ridden like it should be. THe only time the valves arn't on the tight side is if you really ride easy all the time.
