GIVI Airflow, Anyone Tried It???
« on: August 08, 2011, 08:33:57 pm »
Givi Windscreen Overview at RevZilla.com

http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-af447-adjustable-windscreen-super-tenere-xt1200z-11

I am very tempted by this.  About 2-7" of adjustability, charts say I need somewhere around 4" taller so right in the middle of the adjustment.  Seems to work on the same concept as the MRA Vario.  If anyone has any experience with these please let us know.  $250
Cheers,

I haven't tried that one but have ordered the D447ST replacement screen which I'll report on.

Let me know what you think of the Givi D447ST cbruinsw,  I was just talking to GW cycle to get a price in Calgary today but decide to check the forum before I order.

Looks like a pretty big, heavy thing to mount on those 4 puny mounting points of the stock screen. May be ok on road, but wouldn't want to do too much dirt with it.

The Givi D447ST is a little different than the one picture on the first postabove, 13 cm higher than stock.  Here is the link to a picture http://www.amotostuff.com/product/D447ST.html

Despite some good reviews on the net for other bikes I am now a bit leery.  A few have had the top screen detach and bonk them on the head.  I am certain there was some user error or negligence but the fact that the screen can loosen will be magnified in an adventure setting.  Interested in a response from the standard screen but I will likely go to a CalSci Med.

I just ordered the d447ST I hope to have it in a week and I will report on it also. The shield is 5in taller than stock and a few inches wider. Should be interesting.

I think I paid about $128 tax in for the D447ST at Blackfoot so if it doesn't work out well it's no big loss. Should have it this week.

I am also interested in this give screen and would consider getting and fitting to my touratech screen adjuster, I already have two calsci screens and whilst the medium version is adequate I'm not overly impressed with the quaility and this give screen could give even more adjustability.

We could really do with some solid reviews and searching on google didn't turn much up.
