    COLORADO, GHOST-TOWN Exploring + Camp-Out: JULY 25th - 29th 2024

Hmmmmmm - this is looking better every day. i have a black hills dirtbike trip 13-20 July, so i have to see if i can fit this in. I'd probably bring the tenere 700 instead of the 1200, but i'll keep watching this to help decide.

    Revalve, broken peening. Game over?

You can buy the compression valve holders from Traxxion Dynamics and other vendors (lanier suspension has them for some KYB shocks), or maybe even technical touch. You could also have a competent machine shop make a replacement piece out of 6061-T6 AL. "Unpeening" is a delicate job...

    V85TT for now

Brembo or J. Juan brakes? Can't blame KTM if a Brembo fails. You probably CAN blame KTM if a J. Juan brake fails.

What comes after the Super Tenere?

I did buy a Tenere 700 for more "off-road" capability and to do more BDRs. I redid the suspension on the 700 - springs, valving, and it's set up for more off-road than on road by Traxxion dynamics. (i've only ridden the bike for 7 miles). i would NOT want to do two-up on that bike. skinny...

    Introducing my latest new girlfriend.

I just added a Tenere 700 to the stable. Does that count for two Teneres? I wanted something lighter, more off-road biased for doing BDRs. Going to do the Idaho BDR on the 700 this summer.

Head replacement. Engine in or out?

I bought some used BMW/5 heads off of ebay. Seller packed them like crap. Dented the hemi combustion chamber. Took my dremel tool, and then smoothed the head with a sanding wheel, then filled the "holes" with JB weld (really cleaned it up). Reassembled, then ran it for a month. Pulled a head...

Harley Pan Am taking it on the chin

It happens with all brands. I bought a new TM Racing EN300ES (300cc two-stroke with fuel injection) and the exhaust power valve had a bug in the ECU firmware. This has been a problem now for 5 years! I have experience here, and offered to fix the ECU firmware - for free, i'd sign an NDA...

    Test/Review sexy underwear

I have 8 pairs of LD shorts and LD long tights. Dirt bike, street, bike, they're the bomb. On the street bike, that's all i wear. I'll wear EVS dirt bike shorts in addition to the LD comfort, but LD earns my $$$ every time.

    New member from Iowa

Indianola? Is the F-troop still active? I had heard about F-troop while at Iowa State in the late 1970s. Dated a girl from Indianola off and on. One of my favorites (girlfriends, that is). Welcome!

    Coolant Recommendations

Suzuki long-life coolant. It's still blue, but Suzuki claims 5-year change interval. No visual issues - corrosion doesn't seem to be a problem.
