The Givi skid is a nice "light duty" skid plate. I dont ride any extreme trails with this bike but for the pavement it is nice, it fits well and is easy to remove for oil changes.
Also have Caribou Boxes with a Givi skid. A flash is the only thing I see in the near future. A shot of the Caribous when I installed them, almost overkill for the riding that I plan to do.
ncpkwyrider, yes I always ride solo and remove the rear seat. That is a Cycle Gear universal tail bag my brother in law gave me. The skid is a Givi it works OK from the type of riding I now do mostly pavement, it really wouldnt be my choice if I did any off pavement traveling but is OK for the...
Yes they said they would not fit an ES model. The Right side would be the problem but could be worked around Iam sure. I used Hepco Becker racks and Caribou boxes for my new S-10...Wish I had tried to make the Brookes fit.
I have been past this Gift Shop/Redwood Tree display hundreds of times and finally stopped yesterday to check it out a little closer. These old Redwood trees fascinate me being hundreds and hundreds of years old and surviving even the over cutting of Redwood Trees since it became the go to...
Congratulations on the new bike you will love it. I had the same problem locating a new Tenere, no one had one a didnt expect one this year...WTF. I called almost every Yamaha dealer in Calif. and they either didnt have one or if they were going to get one it had multiple offers on it. It got so...
Seems like its getting harder to find a decent pannier system that wont break the bank and isnt like an anchor over the rear wheel. I had Brooks panniers on my 2016 and would use them again but they dont offer a setup for ES Teneres. I have been thinking about getting the Caribou Luggage system...
These are all great tips for bike setup. If you have been off a bike for a long period of time it will take you awhile to get used to traveling by bike. I sold my 2016 Tenere and was bikeless for almost three years and it was maybe 3 or 4 months before I could rack up some miles before having to...
This is from a few years ago, setup for a two night campout. Sleeping bag in the Orange Drybag, tent &poles, camp stove, camp chair in black dry bag. Complete change of clothes and small extra goodies in the panniers. Brookes panniers worked great.
My brother in law and I got out for a nice ride yesterday. These are in the Northern part of California, Fortuna out to Ruth Lake and winding our way to Zenia which is almost a ghost town. Had a great time.
