    OK. First Post.

Thanks for the quick response. As far as I know, Yamaha only offers an ES model. I just checked the Yamaha USA website and it appears that the bags are not included on the USA bikes, but they are available as an almost $1,300 option! I also learned that the bike retails for $16,300USD versus...

    Yamaha tall windscreen?

Okay, though you did say Phillips. I only found out about JIS about 10 years ago, after many years of struggling with what I thought were Phillips head bolts and screws. Haynes

    OK. First Post.

Did you get the Yamaha hard bags with your bike? Perhaps they are not included in the USA? I ask because my 2024 has arrived at the dealership however my hard bags have not. I don't know if they've been delayed, lost or are on back order. Haynes

    Yamaha tall windscreen?

That could be because it's not a Phillips head. It's a JIS. Haynes

    Saddlebag Dimensions

Unfortunately, I don't know what bags come on the 2024, and have only seen pictures of them on the Yamaha website. For what it's worth, they look the sane as the ones on the 2023. My 2013 came without bags and I put Jesse bags on it, and they were huge! Haynes

    Saddlebag Dimensions

Can someone please provide me with the approximate dimensions of the saddlebags? I'm picking up a 2024 next week and I'm planning on bring back a few extras (a couple of 4 litre jugs of oil, for example) and need to know how big the bags are so I can make my shopping list. Thank you Haynes

    Final Drive Fluid Change

I read through this thread but didn't see/couldn't find an answer to this question: Does anyone know the size of the FD filler bolt (#90340-14002)? I dislike Allen-Head bolts as they tend to eventually round out. I had one of these filler bolts round out on my 2013 Super Tenere and it was a...

    Vinyl wrapping tank

I used TankSlapper's pre-cut PPF on my 2013 Super Tenere and have just ordered their Tank Top Kit ($16.95) and their Tank Protector Kit ($15.95) for my 2024. The price goes up to $40.70 and $41.45, respectively, if you order the kit with a higher-end film (EXPEL Ultimate or Scotchgurad Pro)...

Returning To The Fold - A Couple Of Questions

I am aware of the red key/immobilizer thing: This will be my second Super Tenere and I have also owned 2 FJRs, but thanks for the reminder. I'll also keep Speedlabs in mind - didn't know about the ECU flash. Your point (and others') about buying what I can as soon as I find it is well taken...

Returning To The Fold - A Couple Of Questions

I just got an email from T-Rex saying that the bars and plates are back in stock. There's a promo code that'll get me $50 off if I order today, so $449.95 but . . . shipping to Canada is $220! Add to that brokerage fees and taxes that are applied at the the border, and the exchange rate, and...

Returning To The Fold - A Couple Of Questions

Once again, thanks to everyone who chimed in. I will be shopping for 2014+ farkles and a 2017+ service manual. Cheers. Haynes

Returning To The Fold - A Couple Of Questions

I am returning to Super Tenere ownership after a 2 year absence. Previously I owned a 2013 and have just placed a deposit on a 2024. Forgive me but I have a couple of questions that I have been unable to find simple answers to, despite running many searches on this forum. 1) My...

    Yearly miles

I rode a combined distance of 47,100km (29,266 miles) this past season: 19,000km on my Super Tenere and 28,100km on my FJR. As someone already said, where you live can have an effect on the distances you amass over a season. I live north of the 49th parallel and my season began on March 15 and...

    Best Crash Bars

    Best Crash Bars

Altrider crash bars, skid plate, side stand switch guard and the U-joint and brake reservoir guards. (I also have the Altrider rear luggage rack.) Quality stuff and made in the USA. The stock Yamaha U-joint and brake reservoir guards are poorly designed and are an accident waiting to happen...

    Gerbing Heated Gear

@regder - I think we might be twins: I too wear an Under Armour base layer plus a long-sleeve thermal top and thin socks under the heated gear. I wear a KLIM Badlander jacket and KLIM Badlander or Latitude pants (depending on which bike I'm riding). Also: Firstgear (Warm & Safe) jacket...

    Diff leak

I found a YouTube video on how to change the oil seal but I'm a little leery about drilling into the old seal and inserting a sheet metal screw without damaging what's behind the seal. Since you've changed a few of the seals, approximately how deep do you drill into the old seal? Also, if I...
