hello all,
proud owner of a brand new '17 S10 ("sand"...). Traded my first bike ('12 bonneville T-100) after 5.5 yrs and ~16k+ miles.  I'd found myself trying to 'adapt' it for year-round commuting (added givi trunk, heated grips, flyscreen... bought used and tried a parabellum fairing but the 2 shields' heights it came with didn't work out so well for me). the S10 ticks all the 'practicality' boxes for me: better wind protection, shaft drive, a bit more power, ABS, can go off-road if the opportunity of a longer ever presents itself, etc...  And as the weather has been spectacular here in western PA i've commuted every day so far this week. Yep, it's bigger/heavier, but I'm amazed at how easy it handles once rolling, and mileage will probably end up being similar to the T-100. I'm still getting used to this bigger beast, but enjoying it.  I was able to adapt & mount my Givi plate to re-use the topbox (which always looked kind of silly on the Triumph anyway). First up in accessories is probably heated grips; the hand guards are nice, but once you go to heated grips it's hard to go back. Anyhow, glad to be here and looking forward to reading & learning all the ins & outs of this bike.  ::008::

Congratulations on your brand new Tenere.  I thought heated grips were standard equipment on all new Tenere but apparently not.

Nope, just the ES.  I personally think all bikes should have them.  I've ridden every bike that I've owned in the cold.  Heated grips would have been wonderful!  ::001::
