Rox Risers ?
« on: September 09, 2017, 04:49:31 pm »
I  just talked to the dealer about putting on my 2" Rox Risers.  I told him that I purchased longer clutch and brake lines that would need to be installed to do the job.  He asked if I purchased longer throttle cables so he could do the job.  I didn't think I needed to . Is it something that I need to purchase.  Bike is 2016 S10.

I haven't heard of anybody needing new cables. Mine is a '12 and I've got about 3.25" rise on the factory cables. New lines, old cables.

You don't need longer lines for 2" risers on the Gen II.  Probably not on the Gen I either.  It's not a bad thing to do the longer lines, but there is an approved alternative that Rox and AltRider worked together to develop.  And while they sell a kit, most people can do it with a few items from the hardware store or stuff just laying around in their garage for less money.  Kudos to Alt Rider for putting up a Youtube video on how to do it.

My handle bars are 3.5" taller than stock and I just did this to hyd. lines. One year now and no problems.
Just turned throttle cables down instead of up stock position.

I made them and the blind nut. I admit this doesn't help people that only buy stuff to put on their bikes but if you can fab stuff, I can post a drawing.

Clean work.  Very nice.  Looks like billet, then drilled a fluid path and I am guessing blocked it with a set screw or welded up the end hole?   ::008::

Just got back from the dealer. He installed the Rox Risers and the brake and clutch lines that I bought from RideOnAdv. He was impressed with the lines and commented how much better than the stock lines. I asked him about the throttle cables and was told they have plenty of play. Because I am 6'3" it makes a wonderful difference especially standing on the pegs ::008::
