Gen 1
Headlight harness recall done at 1 mile.
2 left side and 1 right side 3,200 lumen Cyclops burnt out.

My 4,000 lumen left side replacement now has 10k miles and fine. Half of that was severe heat riding, 100-118 deg ambient. Just returned from a trip and my 4,000 lumen right side replacement wsiting for me. My warranty is now expired so any future failures on my dime.

Has anyone had a 4,000 lumen bulb burn out yet? I starting to think the 3,200 lumen bulbs are poor quality. Looks like a vendor, materials and design change not just brighter LED chips.

Wow! I didn't see this thread before I bought a set of 4k for my gen 1 bike. So far, after a week of commuting & a 1/2 day of fast hard off road, both lights are still working great. I am really impressed with the out put. I do notice that other drivers & bikers see the lights more readily, which is a good thing. Can't wait to try them at night. The upper cut off ban is in the same position as the halogen lights were. There does appear to be more light lower than before.

The install was pretty easy. The hardest part was getting their plastic adapter in the right position to seat the spring clip. Of course you have to do that with the old style bulbs too.  The other part that took a little bit of time was tucking the wires into the housing to get the new caps on. I'm very glad I found the Tenere set up with the longer caps & didn't go with a generic led.

Thanks for the report, yes I also suspect the 4,000 lumen bulbs might be better quality that's probably why they switched, only 5,000 miles on my 3,200 bulbs and so far all good, haven't been ridding the Tenere this year because I'm kinda hoping to pass the half million mile mark on the Goldwing, 2,000 miles to go.

Agreed. I had one of my halogen marker lights burn out so i bought LEDs to replace both. Saw how much hassle it was to replace and for no real light output or reason so didn't bother. My other marker burnt out 6 months later so all good now without any markers. Reminds me I have two Sylvania LED marker bulbs to sell.

Left side out, Gen1 with the harness recall done when I bought it new.

I may upgrade to the newer 4K bulbs on both sides and hope the left side will last.

I noticed the Left side is warmer due to the heat from the radiator.  Maybe the cause for Left Side failing earlier than right side.

the cyclops kit got here a day early.... will do the install today .... my good friend and riding buddy  Carrot ( forum member some of y'all have met )will supervise this operation .... not that its hard to install , but a chance to hang out with a friend work on the bikes shoot the bull all the good stuff we like as men... its early and I am up full of energy ready to enjoy the day, but it will be almost 9 pm before its dark enough here to see how the installed cyclops are going to work... so I will start my review now..... opening the box found everything to be in order, well packed no damage . bulbs as best I can tell seem well made. the caps , I am impressed by the caps , are well made and besides being deeper have greatly enhanced finger things ( there probably a technical name for them ,but damned if I know ) should make it easier to remove caps if needed... OEM caps are difficult to get a grip on... what I am trying to say is even if the lights fail I am keeping the caps... cyclops could do a great business selling these improved caps as a stand alone kit...

The installation is pretty easy.  A bit fiddly getting the littlke box thingy tucked away and the caps go on differently.

Tbe marker lights are way more involved.

The first time I did the bulbs while the headlight was installed, when I replaced the bad one and the small lamps I just removed the whole light assembly. Made the install much easier.

everything is installed, so after install we fire up the lights ... now its 2 pm and its bright outside, so all we can see is that the lights are very bright, matching the brightness of the rigid LED lights I have mounted... a good thing...after a long wait till dark , I am happy, better than OEM halogens .... and when I turn on all the lights ,wow... so are the cyclops worth the price maybe , time will tell for sure.... they are bright, that is a good thing... do they light up the road in front of you , they do and better I believe than the halogens... I think if they last as they should then for sure they are worth it , if they last only a year or two then probably worth it.... you will be seen by others and that is most of the point....and you can see that's the other point... what I have noticed now that the lights are installed is that there seems to be a point in front of bike at 20 ft or so were the brightest part of the light shines, seems to be a tad low... that maybe a little up adjustment might really find the sweet spot.... anyone notice or have tried this let me know....so far I am pleased.... the install was not hard , the instruction provided were good... you can not rush it , it will fit.... just ask Carrot....

With the cyclops in I had to change those yellow marker 194 bulbs. Got the   Sylvania 194 led's from Walmart . Hearing what a pain they are to change I went for it ... 20 minutes , peace of cake .... JUST DO IT :)

These Cyclops LED bulbs were not to hard to install and are a lot brighter then the stock bulbs, now I just hope they last.

Also replaced the side marker lights in the outside corners with LED 194 bulbs, just remove the windshield, trim cover, and pull the four bolts holding the headlight assembly and replace bulbs, took about 15 minutes.

Is this for Gen 2 bikes also?  If so do you have a link for the kit?  Thx
